Weight Loss Programs
At the IMP wellness center, we recognize that being overweight is a complex medical problem that requires a customized treatment approach designed to meet each individual's lifestyle, and health issues. Our programs have been shown to help you reduce your blood pressure, control blood sugars and decrease the use of medications. We offer a Traditional Food, Full Meal Replacement, and Partial Meal Replacement plan designed to ensure that you lose weight while having all the nutrients you need. On our program, you will feel satisfied and energetic rather than hungry.
Full Meal Replacement Program
The Full Meal Replacement Program replaces your normal diet with calorie and portion controlled products that contain all of the nutrients you need while you lose weight. The program uses a variety of OPTIFAST® and other products which are available in several delicious flavors as shakes, soups or bars.
The initial phase of this program is free from counting calories or worrying about food choices. This method of food stimulus narrowing is extremely successful at achieving rapid weight loss. While in this phase you can take advantage of all the resources available to reshape your attitudes to food and exercise. After a few weeks we will gradually reintroduce traditional foods and offer healthy snacks to help you maintain your weight and you will continue to receive the team support needed for success.
With this program, you can safely lose 2-7 pounds per week until you reach your weight loss goal. An average program is 12-22 weeks long and weight loss of 50 or more pounds can be achieved.
Partial Meal Replacement Program
A partial meal replacement program uses a combination of traditional foods and OPTIFAST® products to achieve a weight loss of 2-3 lbs per week. This program allows you to enjoy some of your favorite regular foods while providing you with OPTIFAST® and other product options to combat some of the more complex food situations during the day. This program may be more suitable for patients who need to dine out often, who travel, or who do not choose to surrender all traditional food choices on a temporary basis. In the final few weeks of your program, we teach you how to carefully reintroduce traditional foods into your diet throughout the day so that you can maintain your weight loss. While our full meal replacement plan is tremendously successful, we realize that a full formula diet can be daunting for some people. For those individuals, we recommend this program.
Using this program, you can safely lose between 2 and 3 pounds each week. The program duration varies in length, depending on your weight loss goals. On this program you will receive the medical care, counseling and support from your team at the IMP Wellness Center in Citrus County

Traditional Food Program
For some it is difficult to stay on a meal replacement program while preparing meals for their family. For you, the challenge is extremely great as there are constant food stimuli. We have a program using exchange food lists and reduced calories to keep you on track. You will receive the appropriate medical monitoring, counseling and team support needed to achieve and maintain your weight loss.
Medication
The most successful weight loss medications are generally classified as appetite suppressants. They can be stimulants or non-stimulants. Both types of medications can be useful in different situations to aid weight loss efforts. Medication can be used in combination with or without our other programs to evoke a feeling of fullness. For patients who need an appetite –suppressant but who do not want to use a pharmaceutical we have natural supplements to achieve the same goals. The nature of the full replacement program usually makes it unnecessary to use an appetite suppressant and this thus represents a viable option for those wanting to avoid pharmaceuticals.
An appetite suppressant is designed to reduce your feelings of hunger by making you feel full sooner. Unlike the constant hunger or starvation you may feel on a normal diet, when you are taking appetite suppressants, you simply aren't as hungry.
On their own, weight loss medications have a very modest and usually temporary effect. When used irresponsibly and without medical monitoring, they can also have dangerous, unpleasant and poor results. Their advantages can be safely maximized, however, when they are used as part of a comprehensive weight loss treatment plan that involves diet, exercise, and behavior modification.
As part of our continued commitment to wellness we provide various natural supplements to replace missing nutrients from your body, allowing proper healing and preventing disease.
