Full Meal Replacement Program
At the IMP wellness center, we recognize that being overweight is a complex medical problem that requires a customized treatment approach designed to meet each individual's lifestyle, and health issues. Our programs have been shown to help you reduce your blood pressure, control blood sugars and decrease the use of medications. We offer Traditional Food, Full Meal Replacement, and Partial Meal Replacement plans designed to ensure that you lose weight while having all the nutrients you need. On our program, you will feel satisfied and energetic rather than hungry.

Partial Meal Replacement Program
A partial meal replacement program uses a combination of traditional foods and OPTIFAST® products to achieve a weight loss of 2-3 lbs per week. This program allows you to enjoy some of your favorite regular foods while providing you with OPTIFAST® and other product options to combat some of the more complex food situations during the day. This program may be more suitable for patients who need to dine out often, who travel, or who do not choose to surrender all traditional food choices on a temporary basis. In the final few weeks of your program, we teach you how to carefully reintroduce traditional foods into your diet throughout the day so that you can maintain your weight loss. While our full meal replacement plan is tremendously successful, we realize that a full formula diet can be daunting for some people. For those individuals, we recommend this program. Using this program, you can safely lose between 2 and 3 pounds each week. The program duration varies in length, depending on your weight loss goals. On this program you will receive the medical care, counseling and support from your team at the IMP Wellness Center in Citrus County.

Traditional Food Program
For some, it is difficult to stay on a meal replacement program while preparing meals for their family. The challenge can be extremely great in those situations, as there is constant food stimuli. We have a program using exchange food lists and reduced calories to keep you on track. You will receive the appropriate medical monitoring, counseling and team support needed to achieve and maintain your weight loss.

Cost of Programs

When considering the true cost of your weight loss consider the following:

  • The average person spends $125 on groceries and snacks each week.
  • A typical fast food meal deal is about $6.00.
  • Treatment of your excess weight can result in savings on medication, tests, and doctor's visits.
  • The regained self-confidence from achieving your goal is beyond value.

Mesotherapies

Mesotherapy is a procedure used for weight loss and body sculpting to reduce, eliminate and contour specific undesired fat pockets. This method targets the receptors on fat cells that produce lipogenesis (fat production) and lipolysis (fat breakdown). Receptors that break down fat are known as beta receptors; those that create fat are alpha receptors. Alpha receptors are stimulated to produce fat when you ingest food containing carbohydrates, fat, amino acids, hormones or alcohol.

In both men and women, the ratio of alpha to beta receptors is generally 1:1 - above the waist. Below the waist, women have approximately 6 to 8 alpha receptors for every single beta receptor. This is the main reason women have trouble losing fat in their abdomens, buttocks and thighs; their bodies are designed to retain fat in those areas.

A medical history and physical examination are required prior to receiving treatment for weight loss and body sculpting. Based on individual requirements, the doctor selects a formula consisting of several medications that block alpha receptors and stimulate the beta receptors. Once injected into the skin, the formula slowly diffuses into the fat, and breaks it down. The number of weight loss and body sculpting treatments required varies from person to person.

Mesolift
Mesotherapy is a safe, natural alternative to invasive cosmetic procedures. The Mesolift process delivers vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly into the skin to nourish and rejuvenate, promote production of collagen and elastin, and stimulate your metabolism. As your skin ages, circulation decreases, and the resulting reduction of oxygen and nutrients hinders your body's ability to flush out toxins. This is what drives premature aging and causes the skin to develop an ashen appearance.

After treatment, patients commonly describe their skin as looking rested, radiant, glowing, and firmer. Mesotherapy can be used a supplement, or an alternative, to many anti-aging regimens, including botox, laser resurfacing, peels, antioxidants, topical creams, and facelifts.

Mesotherapy is also a highly effective rejuvenating treatment. The procedure can be used to tone and tighten sagging skin on the neck, legs, abdomen, arms and hands. In Europe, women often start treatments in their thirties, but Mesotherapy can prove valuable during any stage of a woman's life.

About Mesotherapy

Pioneered by the French physician Dr. Michel Pistor in 1952, Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that is widely used in Europe and elsewhere to treat various injuries and medical conditions. This medical specialty targets problem areas with microinjections of conventional or homeopathic medicines, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Tiny "medicinal bullets" are delivered directly into the mesoderm (middle layer of skin) that are highly specific to the condition being treated. Among its many applications, Mesotherapy can be used for the following:

  • Mesotherapy to eliminate cellulite
  • Mesotherapy to provide anti-aging benefits
  • Mesotherapy to eliminate localized fat deposits

Mesotherapy (Mesotherapie) was recognized by the French National Academy of Medicine in 1986 as an integral part of traditional medicine. Each day, thousands of doctors worldwide use Mesotherapy to help tens of thousands of patients.

Cellulite

Cellulite usually appears between the ages of 25 and 35, and progressively worsens with time. Although it's easily treated with a few Mesotherapy sessions in its early stages, once cellulite progresses to more advanced stages, treatment usually requires a greater number of Mesotherapy sessions.

  • Stage 0: No visible cellulite, even when the skin is pinched.
  • Stage 1: No visible cellulite when standing or lying down. However an "orange peel" texture can be seen when the skin is pinched.
  • Stage 2: Visible cellulite when standing but not when lying down.
  • Stage 3: Visible cellulite when standing and lying down.

Mesotherapy can eliminate cellulite on the legs and buttocks, breaking down the orange-peel appearance of skin, and producing a smooth contour. The average patient eliminates all visible cellulite in 10-25 sessions. Some patients require additional treatments if their cellulite is particularly severe. To treat patients with cellulite, Dr. Wilson employs a standard Mesotherapy formula, which is often customized for each patient. All patients are allergy tested 24 hours prior to treatment. Please note: allergies to the medications are quite rare.

Once you are evaluated (and it's determined you have no allergies), Dr. Wilson will schedule weekly or bi-monthly treatment sessions. Each session takes about 45 minutes and involves the injection of formulas in specific patterns (different types of cellulite require different injection techniques).

Mesotherapy is completely safe when performed by a well-trained physician. In fact, during the 50 years that Mesotherapy has been practiced, no deaths have occurred as a result. Compare this to liposuction, which causes approximately 100 deaths per year.

The most significant side effects of Mesotherapy are black and blue marks, a 15- to 20-minute burning sensation, mild to moderate soreness for 1-5 days, and (as with any injection) a slight risk of infection. All patients return to work the same day.

Keys to Weight-Loss Success

Dr. Wilson will provide you with a customized medical weight loss program that is more effective and easier to adhere to than any other program you have tried, but you have to be ready to make the changes in your life that will help you meet these goals. Before you make any commitment to improve your health and decrease your weight, we want you to be aware of everything that our program has to offer and what you can expect if you enroll. While the exact program prescribed to you depends on a variety of factors unique to you, all our patients at the IMP Wellness Center in Citrus County benefit from a few key program components which have been proven essential for long-term weight loss success.

Medical Monitoring

Numerous studies have shown that rapid weight loss without adequate nutrition and medical monitoring is dangerous. Dr. Wilson will monitor your health while helping you meet your goals. This component of our program assures that you remain in optimum health, that the calorie levels of your diet are adjusted appropriately as you lose weight, and that the doses of any medications you are taking are adjusted and monitored as you lose weight. Medical monitoring includes:

  • A thorough initial medical examination and any necessary lab tests to determine your health status and to identify risk factors.
  • A personalized weight loss plan based on your health status and weight loss goals.
  • Continued guidance and medical monitoring of your progress, health, and well-being throughout the course of treatment.
  • Communication with your primary care physician, as necessary.

Lifestyle Education
Long-term weight loss success is based on your ability to change aspects of your lifestyle that have contributed to you being overweight. We can help you recognize and change those learned behaviors to result in a healthier lifestyle. Lifestyle change is critical to your success, and without it, most weight loss is only temporary. We provide you with everything you need to make a reasonable and sustainable change in your life. The education program that we use was developed in consultation with some of the world's leading experts and has been continually updated to reflect the changes in weight management trends over the last 25 years. We will build a customized education plan to address your personal lifestyle challenges and behaviors. By understanding your behaviors and relationship with food and exercise, we can help you avoid overeating triggers and choose healthy alternatives. The modular format of our education program focuses on all aspects of a healthy lifestyle: nutrition, behavioral change, stress management, healthy activity, and more.

Our education topics include:

  • Managing Stress
